| If you're not sure what to do go ahead and test it out here.
Whatever it is just play around with buttons and figure it out here. If you want to test posting articles pictures, changing your text type or colors, posting links. Anything and everything you're not sure about you can try it out here first.
Oh and
I just had to put that in here. _________________

| hey, jeremy
i am slowly getting the hang of it, you know posting here and there, but what i want to find out is, as a moderator what are my other tasks? i saw this phrase, moderate this column, and when i got there, some commands like splitting the topic. can u explain further how does that work? meaning can i move some reply to a new thread? or to a topic where it is more suitable? i beg your pardon, but just can't figure it out yet.
thanks so much! |

| Okay first of all as a moderator you'll need to know how to move topics if they are in the wrong place. A little earlier someone posted the topic, "http://www.aaa-pharmacyonline.com" under the News section about Brooke. It obviously doesn't belong there. I'll let you move it so you can learn how.
So what you need to do to move a topic is enter that topic then go all the way down to the bottom of the page where it says quick mod tools. Either select "move this topic" from the list or click on the arrow button above it (They both do exactly the same thing). Then you'll want to select where to move it to (in this case it should go under shameless self promotion). Then make sure the "Leave a shadow topic" (or something to that arrangement) box is NOT checked as that will create a duplicate of the topic and we don't want that. You'll basically only want to leave a shadow topic if a lot of people are posting in it and then you would put a link in the shadow to wqhere the new one is located.
Hopefully that made sense. Go ahead and move that topic so you know how to do it. Most of the time you won't have to move topics but occasionally you'll have to.
Here's a rundown of what the buttons do and a few other things. You can always come back here for reference so no need to memorize it, unless you want to.
The other buttons down there you may also have to use at some point but I haven't had to here yet. Like little x button. That'll delete the entire thread which you won't need to do unless something is really bad. Like if someone comes on here and posts something really hateful or pornographic or anything that is really not suitable.
Then you can send the topic to the Basket (the little trash can). If you want to delete something immediately you'll probably want to use this. It will move the topic to the basket where no one can read it and then I can take a look over it, or we can make the decision to permantly delete or bring it back later. So unless you're 100% sure you want to delete something use this button.
Also members may come to you asking you to delete a topic or move something in which case you should just use your best judgement about it or just ask me. Just remember that just because they ask you to do it, it doesn't mean you should. Sometimes people will come along and be very persuasive. Not something you'll probably have to deal with anytime soon but it's something that may happen once we start getting more members. I have yet to delete a topic.
The Merge topics will allow you to combine topics if there are say two topics that should be under the same thread or the Split topic is if you need to make a new topic. I have not had to use either of these tools yet.
Then the last button down there is the Lock button. That will lock the thread up so no one else can post but still keep it available for people to read. Usually only needed for really old topics. You can also unlock them later if necessary.
Okay there's a rundown on what the buttons do. You probably will not be using them a lot (or some even at all), but they are there in case we need them. The only one you may have to use more often is the "move this topic" button.
Also you don't have to read every topic to see if it's offensive or not. Chances are it's not and if it is then someone else (like another member) will tell us, so we can fix the problem.
A mod is also the peacekeeper. A difference of opinion is okay but full-out attacks on other members are not. Anyways most of this stuff will not happen anytime soon. You're basic job at the moment is to post things to help keep the site up to date and to let people know about the site. Once more people start coming, the site will pretty much run itself and then those buttons will start coming in handy.
Hope that helped you out and didn't confuse you. If you have any questions, just ask. It's not actually that hard once you find your way around. You're doing a good job so far. _________________

Yeah sure if they're not here go right ahead. You might want to put a date with it or time period though so people don't think it's a new article.
You have a great day too! _________________

| Camping was really nice. We camped out in the City Of The Rocks. We had a good campi site though slighly slanted it was a very cool site. I also played guitar for over two hours straight and wore my fingers out. But had a great time, thanks for asking.
I'll check out your posts and see and then I got to get back to drawing so I can finish before tuesday. _________________
